Last year we really stepped up the rewards when it came to being a KSP Senior Model. And every year, I strive to make the senior model experience something special. Something different. These girls work really, really hard to do all of my word of mouth marketing for me and they deserve to be spoiled a bit. We've amped it up over the past two years and taken this trip. We go out to the Deadwood/Lead area and we shoot and have fun and bond over all kinds of things. Last year we stayed in a tiny hotel with rabbits everywhere (outside) and it was fun, but I knew we were missing out on the whole group experience. So, we rented a cabin this year. 12 girls, Dan, Sam and I all staying in this gorgeous cabin out in the Gilded Mountain Development. And 7 super awesome moms who stayed just down the road from us in their own cabin. (Their journey could be a whole new blog post #lostmoms).
We decided we were going to add a day, instead of just shooting all 12 girls on one day and for short periods of time. This gave whoever wasn't shooting, time to go explore, have fun...do whatever. It's always a learning curve, trying something like this. Our timing was off more than once, we searched for waterfalls to no avail and overall, there are some things to change for next year. BUT. This experience was so great. I know the girls created some lasting memories, made new friends and will get some pretty cool images out of it.
What did we add new this year?
Besides the cabin, we added some swag bags. T-shirts, nail polish, sunglasses, lip gloss and personalized chalk board cups -- a big thanks to Sam for helping me put them together.
Thursday night we opened up those puppies and let the girls just have a night to relax before shooting Friday and Saturday afternoon and into evening.
We did a ton of scouting last year when we were here. We did some old familiar spots and then found a few cool, new spots. I transferred everything over and picked out some serious favorites for each of our senior models. Enjoy the images I've sorted through so far! Can't wait to go back again next year!
Also, a HUGE HUGE HUGE thank you to my partners in crime, Dan and Sam. This trip is never easy to pull off and they are always there to support me in times of stress and crisis. Dan, thanks for always being my go to light guy. And Sam, thanks for being my sounding board, and for making all these wonderful beauties even more beautiful.
And of course, the yearly tradition of the group photo in their KSP Senior Model shirts.
There were a ton more things I could have written about during this trip. But to save the time, I figured I'd open up a Q&A. If you have questions regarding our trip, please feel free to ask on the shared facebook post on the business page!
