Myah | Class of 2017 Sanborn Central Senior

I was so, so excited to work with this wonderful young lady! Not only is she an amazing athlete, but she is kind, genuine and an all around wonderful person.  Working with Myah was a breeze. She had lots of fun ideas and we got to use a few cool, new locations! Not only did we hang out in my neck of the woods, but Myah's family owns a barn that has a built in basketball court. Like, hello, cool spot to shoot that was not only new for me but super sentimental for Myah and her family.

Here are a few favorites from Myah's sessions!

Myah signed to play basketball at South Dakota State University and I am so jazzed to be able to see where her future goes from there. She's an amazing person on and off the court. I've never seen a more caring individual of both the game and of her teammates. A truly selfless athlete!

After a few outdoor sports images, we ventured over to one of my favorite little hidden gem spots. The light is always so beautiful there and that gorgeous teal top that Myah brought with her paired perfectly with the yellow in the steps. Plus, hello, gorgeous backlight.

Myah told me in her consultation that she wanted something with old cars. So at the beginning of the shooting seasons, I did a little scouting and a little research and found THE coolest farm with some beautiful old cars, an old camper (WHAT?!) AND so many other cool little spots. It was the perfect country setting that we were looking for.

Myah brought this gorgeous peachy coral colored dress that was absolutely beautiful paired with the South Dakota late summer night light. We went to my favorite old tree spot and down to the beach and it was literally too perfect. The dress went with everything and paired so well with both locations. I adore these images.

I was not even close to kidding when I said that Myah's family owns a barn and they built a basketball court in it. It's a place she can practice or the whole family can just shoot around. It was so cool to be able to photograph her in her own element at home. Plus, I mean, it's basically just one of the coolest locations I've ever been able to photograph a senior in. And that scoreboard? Of course, we put 2017 up there.

Besides, the scoreboards and baskets, the really awesome barn (yep still there) comes complete bleachers and lockers. It was the perfect setting to use Myah's jerseys and all of her game balls that she has earned over the course of her high school career. Genuinely the coolest.

It was such an honor to photograph your senior portraits, Myah! Thanks for choosing KSP!
