If ever there was an example for girls to follow that you totally CAN rock senior pictures without a ton of makeup, let Kate be that example. She told me in her consultation that she didn't want hair and makeup, that she was going to rock the natural look because that was just more her. And I couldn't have been more pleased with how gorgeous these images turned out because they represented Kate so well.
Here are some of our faves:
Like with all of my seniors, we wanted Kate to be the star that day so we took her to as many neutral locations so that she really popped. Plus, you can't really go wrong with a navy and silver combo. Those silver stairs are a fave, just like Kate. This urban setting really worked with what we wanted.
Never be afraid to use a location that might be kind of weird. Ten points to Gryffindor if you can guess where we shot this image. It's not in a studio. If you said a car wash, you'd be 100% correct. Trapped light is your best friend on an overcast day. I probably should have recorded the look on Kate and her mama's face when I said we would be using this little spot. I'm so glad my seniors are trusting. Plus, car washes are the cool place to be in 2017, right?
We moved from in town to out of town to this gorgeous little filed on the side of the road. At this point, we were fighting against a lot of overcast, but we could not have had better light (especially with the help from our trusty light guy, Dan). Kate's pink cardigan added just the right amount of warmth to her complexion in this area. I loved how relaxed and natural she looks on the outside two images.
Wild sunflowers are some of my absolute favorites. They only bloom at certain times during the summer here in South Dakota and we don't get to use them very often. So when we find a random patch, we absolutely pull over and go for it! This is probably my favorite image of Kate.
We ended our day with Kate in the usual KSP fashion: down by the water, at the beach. Kate's natural smile and perfect clothing choices were so, so her and it was such a fun day! Thanks for choosing KSP, Kate!
